David DeFeis’ Answers:

1. What can we expect from these “Acoustic” performances?
ANSWER: Fury, Energy, Barbaric Romanticism…and the Sword Of The Gods!

2. What will the Set List contain?
ANSWER: Some familiar numbers dressed up in a new guise, and some never before attempted things. It is a very free approach. However, that does not mean that it is easy, happy & bouncy, far from it. The tracks chosen are all quite challenging to perform, and are emotionally heavy as well as sonically heavy.

3. And how are the Songs chosen?
ANSWER: We ran through countless songs to see what might work, and we arrived at the list, based on how well a given track sounded in this stripped down environment.

4. How is this different from an “Electric” VIRGIN STEELE Concert?
ANSWER: Commitment wise, it is no different, nor is it different in its actual execution, or its intensity. It is different in the fact that it is just 2 instruments, one guitar and one voice. It is bare bones so to speak. The audience will get a glimpse of what our approach is like, when we are at home working through various tracks. It is very, very intimate experience.

5. What are the challenges of such a show?
ANSWER: Trying not to hit too many wrong notes, as there is nothing to hide behind! And…to make these two instruments sound as big, heroic & triumphant as when the entire Group is playing.

6. Will we see more of these types of performances?
ANSWER: Absolutely!

7. What is the latest News on the next album?
ANSWER: After these dates, we will dive full-bore hardcore into the completion of the next album. The ideas are all there, and in fact there are about 40 demos already recorded. Hopefully it won’t take too long to complete everything we wish to record. But we are not rushing. It will be ready…when it is ready. We want it to be the best one yet.

Edward Pursino’s ANSWERS:

1. What can we expect from these “Acoustic” performances?
ANSWER: you can to see expect to see Dave and I in a very relaxed state, touching on the Steele catalog in an intimate setting. The material is very naked and vulnerable. We don’t hide behind machines or computers; it’s very real and vivid. It’s also a bit scary at times.

2. What will the Set List contain?
ANSWER: the set is a combination of old and new, soft and heavy. You’ll here some favorites and some very unexpected tracks. The set is mostly what you wouldn’t expect.

3. And how are the Songs chosen?
ANSWER: We basically played for about 4 hours then picked what we thought would fly the highest, however we’ll probably play some different songs anyway.

4. How is this different from an “Electric” VIRGIN STEELE Concert?
ANSWER: It’s different because it’s just Dave and I playing different versions of the songs, however it’s still very VIRGIN STEELE. YOU CAN almost see the core of the Steele, we play the material the way it was before we recorded the power versions. Those of you who do attend will understand VS a whole lot better.

5. What are the challenges of such a show?
ANSWER: the challenges are that it’s only the guitar and voice, no other instruments. The songs are not easy to play on the guitar. It’s a very hard gig, not a cakewalk, now you didn’t expect anything less from us did you.

6. Will we see more of these types of performances?
ANSWER: yes of course, Dave and I will be doing some Greek and Italian dates as well.

7. What is the latest News on the next album?
ANSWER: we will begin recording the album in the fall and will finish when it’s just right. We simply can’t be rushed.
